Audience
This guide is for people managers and supervisors who use Roubler and need to set up the New clock device for browsers (Web Clock) on a desktop or laptop at their site.
You’ll typically work with your internal Roubler/System Administrator to get the necessary Clock Device User created first.
Description
The New clock device for browsers is a browser-based version of Roubler’s Clock App. It:
Runs in a supported browser (Chrome recommended) via the web clock URL (for example, from Settings → Clock Applications → New clock device for browsers or
https://clock.roubler.com/).Uses a dedicated Clock Device User (system user with the Clock Device permission group) to sign in on each physical device.
Does not require “Location devices” registration or Device IDs (those are only for legacy web clocks).
Once configured, employees use their Roubler PINs on the dial pad to clock in/out and record breaks.
Steps
Step 0 – Make sure a Clock Device User exists
Managers often cannot create system users themselves. Before setting up the browser clock:
- Confirm with your internal Roubler/System Administrator that a Clock Device User has been created for your device/location with:
- Permission group: Clock Device
- Assigned to the correct location
A username (email), password, and a Clock Device PIN recorded and shared securely with you.
If you are authorised to manage system users, you can follow your internal admin guide to create this user; otherwise, treat it as a prerequisite.
Step 1 – Prepare the clock device
On the PC or laptop that will act as the clock:
- Connect to a stable internet connection.
Open a supported browser (Chrome or Edge recommended).
Step 2 – Open the New Web Clock (New clock device for browsers)
You can reach the web clock in either of two ways:
Option A – From Clock Applications (recommended for first-time setup):
- Open a Browser )google Chrome recommended) and enter this URL:
https://clock.roubler.com/). If asked, allow the browser to access your camera for clock.roubler.com while visiting the site
Step 3 – Sign in as the Clock Device User
On the web clock sign-in page:
Enter the Clock Device User username and password (not your own manager login).
- Close the login tab and return to the Clock.roubler, com tab
Select the correct Company (if more than one is listed).
- Select the correct Location where this device is physically used.
When prompted, enter the Clock Device PIN and confirm.
The device is now configured as a New clock device for browsers for that location.
Step 4 – Verify the clock is ready for employees
You should now see the clock dial pad screen.
- Ask a test employee to:
- Enter their employee PIN, and
- Perform a Clock in, then Clock out.
Check that the clock shows a success/confirmation message and that the test times appear in Attendance/Timesheets for the correct date and location.
Leave the browser window open; this device is now your on-site web clock.
Tip: Pin/bookmark the web clock tab, and avoid using this browser session for normal web browsing to keep the device stable.
Troubleshooting
1. “I can’t sign in / wrong company list appears”
Make sure you are signing in with the Clock Device User credentials, not your own manager login.
- If you see only demo companies or the wrong company:
- Check you opened the correct URL (
https://clock.roubler.com/or via New clock device for browsers in your own tenant). Confirm with your admin that the Clock Device User has access to the correct company/location.
- Check you opened the correct URL (
If you still cannot see your company, escalate to your internal Roubler/System Administrator.
2. “Employees can’t clock – PIN not recognised”
- Confirm staff are entering their own employee PIN, not the Clock Device PIN.
- Check the employee’s profile to confirm their PIN is set correctly (your HR/Admin team may control this).
If the problem is only on one device, make sure that device is logged in as the correct Clock Device User and location.
3. “The clock page is blank / white / stuck loading”
This is usually browser or connectivity related.
On the clock device:
Open another website (e.g. a news site) to verify internet connectivity.
- If other sites don’t load, resolve local network/Wi-Fi issues first.
- If the internet works:
- Close and reopen the browser.
- Try an Incognito/Private window.
Clear cache/cookies and reload the web clock.
If multiple devices show the same issue, your internal Roubler/System Administrator should investigate or escalate.
4. “Device keeps logging out”
For browser clocks, this often happens because the device sleeps, the browser is closed, or the tab is reused.
- Keep the device plugged in.
- Set screen timeout/auto-lock to Never or the longest possible value.
Avoid using the clock browser session for other tasks; dedicate the browser/tab for clocking.
If the issue persists, consider whether a tablet Clock App (New Clock App) might be more stable for that location and discuss with your admin.
Who to contact for help
If problems continue after following this guide:
HR / Payroll / Operations
Contact your HR/Payroll/Operations team for:
- Questions about which clocking method (New Web Clock vs legacy vs tablet app vs mobile) each site should use.
Policies for missed clocks, manual adjustments, or which locations the clock should be attached to.
Internal Roubler/System Administrator
Contact your internal Roubler admin or system owner for:
- Creating and managing Clock Device Users and their access.
- Reviewing Company Settings → Clocking and any clock-related configuration.
Investigating repeated issues with the New clock device for browsers or deciding when to migrate devices away from legacy clocks.
When escalating, include:
- The company and location where the clock is used.
- The device type and browser (e.g. Windows 11 + Chrome).
- Whether this is the New clock device for browsers (web clock) or another method.
Screenshots of the problem and the Clock Device User name (not password).
Authorised internal admins can then work with Roubler/MYOB Support if further technical assistance is required
